REDFORD TWP., Mich. (FOX 2) - A body was found in Redford Township's Claude Allison Park just before 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Police say it was discovered by a passerby who called 911.
"It's just an eerie feeling broad daylight," said one resident. "I just feel really sad about it."
Police tell FOX 2 that they found a deceased black male who has not been identified. They believe he was in his late 60s or early 70s and there were no apparent signs of trauma to his body.
Vehicle tire marks were also found near the body but police say it's unclear if those tire marks are connected to this investigation.
"It's just strange happening in your backyard," said the neighbor.
Some residents say this park has been the scene of trouble, adding that fights often take place in the park.
"They feel the only way to solve things is through fighting, guns, knives," said a neighbor. "So we mind our business."
But police want anyone who witnessed or heard anything that seemed out of place to call and report the information to investigators. Call (313) 387-2500.
