Detroit man disappears after holiday party

The family of John Kimbrough spent the weekend combing through Detroit to find signs of the 51-year-old man they said left his company holiday party but seemingly disappeared.

John Kimbrough went to a holiday party at Riverside Marina but never made it home. Over the weekend, his family, including his girlfriend, Letta McPherson, were on the streets trying to find the 51-year-old man.

"This is the kind of man that doesn't miss work for nothing in the world. He will get to work. Period," McPherson said.

The two both work at Detroit Receiving Hospital. He's been there 25 years as a plant operations assistant. McPherson says they go to work and come home together every single day. But not on Friday.

"No call, no show. I knew immediately something is wrong because this is not him," she said.

McPherson said John went to the holiday party alone because she didn't have enough time to get ready. She said he was all dressed up with a full length black fur coat that had his name embroidered on the inside. She said he was also wearing a Rolex and his Cartier glasses.

At 9:37, they spoke via Facetime and he said he'd be home soon. She hasn't seen or heard from him since.

"I waited up all night. I haven't had any sleep since Thursday night looking for him. I'm going to find him. He's coming home," she said.

She said John's truck was in the parking lot at the marina and she says he never would have gone near the water because he was afraid of it. She worries that he left with someone and was robbed or abducted and is asking for help in bringing him home.

"We want to get him home so we can continue our family."

Detroit Police are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
