Detroit police officer offer to pay phone bill for elderly woman who couldn't call 911

Detroit police officers helped an elderly resident by offering to pay her phone bill recently.

Detroit police originally said that the officers paid the bill, but later said that the woman actually paid her own after they offered to help.

The woman feared that someone had broken into her home but she couldn't call 911 because she couldn't pay her phone bill.

Officers Daniels and Robinson from the 8th Precinct on the city's west side cleared the woman's home to make sure no one was inside.
