Greening of Detroit plants nearly 70 new trees in Grandmont community

In the FOX-E report, a Detroit neighborhood is looking a little greener tonight.

Volunteers braving the rain, planted more than five dozen new trees in the Grandmont area as part of the annual "Greening of Detroit."

The trees filled the void after the devastating effects of Dutch elm disease and the emerald ash borer.

The Greening of Detroit" has resulted in the planting of more than 100,000 trees in the last 28 years.
