Max & Erma's abruptly closes locations in Michigan

Employees and hungry customers alike were greeted by a closed signs at multiple Max & Erma's in Michigan on Monday.

The restaurant, which is owned by American Blue Ribbon Holdings, closed 13 locations in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana on Monday. Employees who showed up to open the restaurant said they were greeted with this sign: "Sorry we are closed, Max & Erma's thanks you for your patronage over the years". According a press release from the company, a member of the team was at each restaurant to deliver the news.

The company did not list the restaurants that would be closing. However, Google Maps shows 11 locations that were spread out across Metro Detroit, including Lansing. On the company's website, only three are still listed: Detroit Metro Airport, Lansing, and Partridge Creek.

American Blue Ribbon Holdings said it is committed to the brand and they "look forward to announcing the next phase of this exciting brand revitalization during the week of January 25th." 

American Blue Ribbon Holdings lists O'Charleys, Ninety Nine, Max & Erma's, Village Inn, and Baker's Square as part of its restaurant group.
