Metro Detroit company goes to LA to help with restoration efforts after wildfires
LOS ANGELES (FOX 2) - The raging inferno in California has displaced thousands and shocked millions across the United States.
Meanwhile, a local company from Metro Detroit is working through the smoke to help those who lost their homes in the Los Angeles fires.
Big picture view:
Wayne Wudyka and his restoration company CRDN are located in Michigan and are playing a big part in helping victims of the wildfires.
The company has 150 franchise locations with ten in California, and they are working around the clock in the art of restoration.
The massive fires have all their employees on alert.
Six massive fires have burned thousands of homes to the ground, but even if you're spared by the flames, the smoke is another thing that can bring danger to residents.
"If you can imagine an incinerator, and you start dropping in a home, a car, tires, fuel, industrial waster, the output of that incinerator is what's being spread across Southern Cal right now. So the home may not look like it has structural damage, but it is ingesting all this toxic ash," said Wudyka.
Toxic ash destroys items in homes and can lead to problems later.
Michigan has its share of disasters as well and experts recommend videotaping stuff in your home.
Be prepared. Be smart. Because no one thinks it will happen to them until it's too late.
