Michigan school bus carrying kids slides into ditch

Only minor injuries were reported after a school bus lost control on a dirt snow-covered road in Washtenaw County and slid into a ditch.

A school bus in Augusta Township crashed into a ditch on Talladay Road after the driver made a slight turn while taking students home on Thursday.

The fire chief of Augusta Township says the children on the bus suffered minor injuries when the bus went into the ditch on its side.

Officials say the driver of the bus was going 10 mph on the icy roads when he made a brief turn that led to the crash.

Staff from Lincoln Consolidated Schools said all students were evacuated and will be taken home once responders have looked everything over.
