New poll has Michiganders in favor of legalizing marijuana

A new poll shows Michiganders are in favor of the idea to legalize and tax marijuana but it may actually be even higher than what the polls show, supporters claim.

The Epic-MRA poll shows that 53 percent of those who were polled supported the legalization of marijuana, in particular if 10 percent of that tax goes back to the roads, schools and local government. That number is up by six percent since 2013.

Some supporters even say that percentage could be higher, and that many people who were polled just don't want to admit they are in support of the legalization of marijuana.

Here in Michigan, the issue could be on the ballot in November if the proponents can get the petition drive going in overdrive. They need 253,000 signatures to put it on the ballot. So far, they have 250,000 signatures. They have until June 1 to get all of the signatures on the ballot.

The poll shows 53% are in favor of legalization, 45% are opposed, while 2% say they are undecided.
