Road rage between Toledo men leads to freeway shooting on US-23 in Monroe County

A man shot at another driver on US-23 during a road rage incident in Summerfield Township on Thursday morning.

Authorities said a 21-year-old Toledo man was driving a Dodge vehicle north on the freeway just before 10 a.m. when the road rage incident happened with a 35-year-old Toledo man in a Mazda. The man in the Mazda pulled out a handgun and shot at the man in the Dodge.

The drivers both exited the freeway at Summerfield Road and stopped on the exit ramp. There was a confrontation witnessed by Monroe County Deputy Jason Miller, who stepped in and spoke with both men.

The shooter was arrested. His name was not released because he hasn't been arraigned.
