Michigan State Police chase stolen Tesla, stop it witih PIT maneuver

Michigan State Police said they caught up to a stolen Tesla but the driver refused to stop and continued to drive off from police.

TROY, Mich. (FOX 2) - A woman stole a Tesla in Troy and led police on a chase Monday evening before they could stop her.

The vehicle was reported stolen from a dealership just before 7 p.m. The dealership was tracking it, and Michigan State Police troopers found the Tesla exiting I-75 onto Rochester Road.

Police tried to stop the vehicle, but the 20-year-old driver fled. Troopers attempted a PIT maneuver, but it was unsuccessful.

The chase continued until police executed another PIT maneuver on Vernier near the I-94 Service Drive and stopped the Tesla.

The driver was arrested pending prosecutor review.
