Lions re-sign safety Tavon Wilson

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Lions have re-signed safety Tavon Wilson. Detroit made the move Tuesday, a day before the start of free agency. Wilson has started 23 of 25 games the last two years with the Lions. The New England Patriots picked Wilson in the second round in 2012 and the former Illinois star played in 54 games, starting four, over four years with them.

Sharks take 5-3 win over Red Wings

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - The San Jose Sharks ended their longest homestand of the season on a high note and now look to carry that forward on the road as they seek to solidify a playoff berth. Eric Fehr scored his first goal with San Jose and the Sharks closed a six-game homestand by handing the Detroit Red Wings their seventh straight loss, 5-3 on Monday night.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Tigers agree to minor league deal

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia agreed to a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers and will report to big league spring training. Detroit's move Friday adds depth behind James McCann and John Hicks. Saltalamacchia has hit .233 with 110 homers and 381 RBIs over an 11-year big league career. He played in 10 games last season for Toronto and had one hit in 25 at-bats.
