One killed, another injured in birthday party shooting

It was supposed to be a quiet birthday party at a home for twins turning 20 years old. Instead, around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, a man wearing a ski mask and driving a dark-colored car entered the party, fired multiple shots, killed 19-year-old Crishon Dixon, and wounded 20-year-old Brianna Taylor, who remains in the hospital. The victim's family is devastated.

Detroit police also say a 19-year-old who was in the group with the 18-year-old was arrested during that investigation. Police said the 19-year-old was armed with a weapon. FOX 2 spoke to the mayor and police chief. They want to make sure people understand that there were thousands of people downtown to enjoy the fireworks.

Wrong-way crash leaves one dead, suspected driver hospitalized

Around 4 a.m. on June 23, reports of a wrong-way driver traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75 in the city of Wayne preceded more calls of a two-vehicle rollover crash in Detroit.  One of the vehicles was on fire, according to Michigan State Police.
