A bombshell report by The Guardian, potentially shaking up a critical primary election, as reported leaked messages reveal obscene sexual comments allegedly made by University of Michigan Regent Jordan Acker, the high-profile university official who previously led UM’s campaign against pro-Palestinian students. According to a source who shared the messages with FOX 2, Acker made the lewd comments in 2020 and 2021, in reference to a Democratic party strategist and a female U-M student. Following dams in the Midland area failing in 2020, the state's Dam safety task force made 86 recommendations to avoid failure of further dams. The more than 50 page report was filed in February of 2021, with many of the problems still needing to be addressed. The state spent $44 million on repairs in recent years. 

Youth have pressing concerns about police stops and interactions with police officers, about rising unease and mistrust with all law enforcement in the current climate. They joined police on Saturday to talk about what spaces are safe, fun and available for youth, especially with summer and curfews around the corner.

Officials say a trooper tried to pull over the suspect when they sped off, starting off a police chase across Inkster. The chase continued onto Parkwood where police say the suspect ran a red light when crossing Oakwood and crashed into another vehicle.  The driver of the car that was hit later died from his injuries.

Advocates are pleading for Governor Whitmer to grant Clark clemency from the 17 to 30-year sentence for armed robbery, so she can get treatment outside the prison system. 

The water levels have gotten better, dropping to seven inches below the top of the Cheboygan dam.
