Stormy End to Week
video

Scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday have caused high waters and flooding in parts of Metro Detroit. With more rain and storms expected this afternoon, additional flooding could be a problem in flood prone areas. We should keep skies mostly cloudy with highs only in the low to mid 80s. Rain should linger through the evening and overnight before moving out of town by midday Saturday. That is going to set the stage for a beautiful Sunday and start to the next workweek.

‘Houses that are totally gone’: 4 dead as Tropical Storm Laura exits Louisiana, leaving wake of destruction

One of the strongest hurricanes ever to strike the U.S. pounded the Gulf Coast with wind and rain early Thursday morning, but Laura rapidly weakened and was downgraded to a tropical storm by afternoon.

Hot and Humid Thurday
video

Hurricane Laura made landfall early this morning at 2 AM with 150 mph winds along the Gulf Coast. Thankfully, back at home, things will be much more calm. Enjoy the sunshine this morning because a few shower and storm chances are possible this afternoon and evening. Highs should top out in the low 90s today. This would be the 17th day in 2020 that we have touched 90 degrees or higher. We should fall into the mid 70s overnight. Cooler air is on the way this weekend.

Rain and Storms Early Wednesday
video

Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms earlier in the day Wednesday. Into the afternoon, as the warm front that is causing the rain and storms lift into Canada, it should take the wet weather with it. Highs should jump into the mid/upper 80s this afternoon with more humidity. We should fall into the 70s overnight, so it will be warm. Though an isolated shower or storm is again possible on Thursday, most of us should stay relatively dry.
