Butter Bear's salted caramel for Easter

Pastry chef and Butter Bear owner joined us on The Nine to show us how to make some desserts for your Easter menu. 

She showed us how to make banana caramel cream pie. You can watch in the video player above, and get her salted caramel recipe below. 

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon kosher salt 

Heat the granulated sugar in medium size saucepan over medium heat. Stir periodically. Sugar will start to clump and then melt into a light amber color liquid.
Once the caramel is amber in color and completely smooth, add in the heavy cream. Mix until stir in the butter and salt.

*If the caramel has formed clumps, place back onto the heat and stir the whole time allow the caramel to heat enough to loosen the caramel mixture back up.
