La Chispa and Company June 11 at Detroit Film Theatre

(WJBK) - Enjoy an evening of flamenco music and dance with guitarist Guillermo Guillen of France, singers Anna Colom and Imael De La Rosa Fernadez of Spain, dancer and percussionist Jesus C Muñoz from the U.S. and Kresge Fellowship Foundation recipient Valeria Montes, known as La Chispa for the vibrancy and intensity of her performance, of Mexico.

The event is Saturday, June 11 at 7 p.m. at the Detroit Film Theatre. Tickets are $10.

La Chispa and Company bring a fresh approach to Flamenco, combining a modern sensibility and diversity with a deep respect for traditional expression, that brings authenticity to their performance and affirms Flamenco's exploratory roots.
