Van Buren Eagles club holding fundraisers for autism awareness

(WJBK) - April is autism awareness month, highlighting the need to find more answers to this puzzling disorder.

To raise funds for research and treatment for autism, the Belleville school district will be sponsoring two fundraisers this spring.

Laura Flis, ASD coordinator for Wayne County, Rich Cetnarowski Jr. and Rich Cetnarowski Sr. join us on The Nine to tell us more about the events.

The first is the Walk For Autism on Saturday, April 9 at Belleville High School's gymnasium. It starts at 9 a.m. and 100% of the proceeds go to the autism programs at Webster Elementary in Livonia and Van Buren Public Schools.

The second is a fundraiser Saturday, April 23 at the Van Buren Eagles in Belleville.
