21-year-old hit by two cars and killed while crossing Greenfield in Detroit

Detroit police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who left the scene of a deadly pedestrian accident Friday morning on Greenfield near I-96.

Police say a person was hit by two different cars, and that one of the drivers stopped but the other didn't.

The accident happened around 1:45 a.m. when a young man was crossing the road. A driver going north on Greenfield near Plymouth hit the man, and the force of impact knocked the victim into the southbound lanes where he was then hit by a second vehicle.

The 21-year-old died at the scene.

Police say the first driver, in a Chevy Silverado, stayed at the scene and was taken into police custody. Police are still looking for the second driver.

Police are reviewing surveillance video trying to determine what kind of vehicle the second driver was in.

Police have not yet given the name of the victim.
