33-year-old man dead after being shot in his car

DETROIT (FOX 2) - A 33-year-old man is dead after he was shot while sitting in his 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo. 

While the circumstances appear random, many residents in the area wouldn't be surprised if the incident was pre-meditated. 

Happening around 3 a.m. early Sunday, the man was sitting drivers side when an another man dressed in dark clothes walked up to him and started shooting. The victim began driving away with his girlfriend in the passenger seat. 

He eventually made it to the 9000 block of Chalmers where he later died.
