Four family members were hurt in a drive-by shooting on Detroit's east side Friday evening.

Detroit drive-by shooting on Haverhill

What we know:

Detroit police said someone drove up and fired shots in the 3700 block of Haverhill, which is near Mack Avenue and Outer Drive.

Police said four family members standing outside at the time were hurt, which included three adults and a 10-year-old. One of the victims is the mother of the child, and police said she's in critical condition.

The mayor's office said later Friday night the 10-year-old and the other two adults weren't seriously hurt.

We're told the other two adult victims were men in the 20s and 40s.

What we don't know:

Police haven't given details on the vehicle, suspect or motive.

Detroit Police also did not say how many shots were fired, but FOX 2 cameras spotted dozens of shell casings and at least 49 evidence markers littering the street.

What they're saying:

"This senseless and indiscriminate violence should never reach a young child and will not be tolerated," Mayor Mary Sheffield's Office said in a statement Friday night.
