ACLU 100 event at Cobo Center April 24

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

They're our undeniable rights as Americans but do you really know what they mean? During a time of serious political divide how one organization is fighting to protect those rights.

"The ACLU is turning 100 next year, and in celebration of that we are touring the country to talk about three of our main priorities - voting rights, immigrant rights and reducing mass incarceration," said Rodd Monts, ACLU of Michigan. "So the ACLU national team has put together an exhibit that includes three interactive containers - shipping containers, outfitted with all these technological gadgets that will inform people about issues related to those three topics. as well as ways in which they can get involved in helping us with the solutions."

The ACLU MI event will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Cobo Center. For more information, go to aclu100.org
