Deadline: Last day to register to vote

If you're not yet registered to vote, today is your last chance.

If you want your voice to be heard in the upcoming presidential election, you must register today, October 11. The election is on Tuesday, November 8.

Anyone 18 or older can register by mail or in person at their county, city or township clerk's office or by visiting any Secretary of State branch.

The Macomb County Clerk will even stay open until midnight tonight to accept voter registration forms.

To see if you're registered, or to check out your polling location, visit vote.michigan.gov.

FOX 2 also wants to note scammers who may be trying to gather your personal information during a voter registration drive. Always register yourself by mail or in person at your government building, rather than giving up your license number of the last four digits of your social security number.

Also be wary of people asking for campaign donations. Always go right to the source to make a donation.

Official campaign sites for the presidential candidates who will be on your ballot include www.donaldjtrump.com (Republican); www.hillaryclinton.com (Democratic); www.johnsonweld.com (Libertarian); www.castle2016.com (U.S. Taxpayers); www.jill2016.com (Green); and www.rev16.us (Natural Law).

If you're registered, you can see a sample of the remainder of your ballot at vote.michigan.gov

Also, some may try to convince you to vote by the convenience of email so you won't have to drive to your polling location. This type of vote stealing is on the rise during election season.
