Eagles spotted across from John D. Dingell Park

It almost seemed serendipitous that on the final day of John Dingell's funeral, bald eagles congregated across from a state park named by the same man.

The spitting image of patriotism, around a dozen of the birds made an appearance on Mud Island, which lies just east of John Dingell Park. Meanwhile hundreds of miles in Washington D.C., a funeral for the longest sitting representative was being held, with several current and former members of congress paying their respects to Dingell.

It's not anything new that bald eagles were nesting across from the shoreline. Officials from the city of Ecorse where the park is located said they're sighted there often.
