Eastland Mall shut down after crowds grew unruly over Nike shoes

The Eastland Mall in Harper Woods, Mich., was temporarily shut down Saturday after crowds became unruly over the release of new Nike shoes.

A giant crowd gathered early in the morning to purchase the new Nike Air Jordans. The crowd was so out-of-control security temporarily shut down the mall.

The incident was the latest in a string of incidents around Metro Detroit, as well as across the country, involving the release of the new shoes. Last weekend in Detroit, a teen was shot on the city's southwest side for his new Jordans.

Also, two people were shot this Saturday morning outside a Footlocker store in Minnesota.
