Ferndale display represents children separated from their families at the border

More than a thousand wooden stakes are outside of First Methodist Church in Ferndale, to bring awareness to the thousands of kids separated from their migrant families at the southern border.

The group indivisible fighting 9 recently added the stakes to the lot for everyone to see.

“It’s good that people know about the thousands of separated immigrant children, we don’t hear enough about what has actually gone on with the immigrant population on the southern border, we just don’t hear about it up here,” Marilyn Druyer said.

Organizers hope the stakes will bring light to the issue like the AIDS memorial quilt did for the AIDS crisis in the 80s.
