Gov. Whitmer unveils her 'Road to Opportunity'

In a speech that sounded similar to her budget delivery, Gov. Whitmer spoke in Detroit on her "Road to Opportunity" tour.

Speaking at the Detroit Marriott, she discussed ambitious plans for education, drinking water and of course the Michigan's roads.

"I know I'm going to be know as the 'fix the damn roads' lady," she said to a group of primarily women.

Some of those plans include having 90 percent of Michigan's roads in good condition by 2030 and putting Michigan in the top 10 for 3rd grade reading literacy.

She also has placed obtaining clean drinking water for all residents and closing the skills gap as top priorities for her campaign.
