Police hope tips will crack case of murdered security guard

Two men are wanted for murdering a security guard as he walked to work. Now his family is begging for your help.

Toranaga Henderson was shot and killed on January 3 as he and a friend were walking to work near Grand and Wildemere on Detroit's west side. Toranaga worked as a security guard.

Police say two men approached Toranaga and his friend just before 8 p.m. and, in what's being described as a robbery gone wrong, the criminals shot both men. Toranaga's friend survived but, sadly, he did not.

"They killed him over a wallet that didn't have anything in it," says Toranaga's mother, Janet Henderson. All she wants is justice for her 28-year-old son.

"All this senseless killing has to stop; it has to stop," says Toranaga's sister, Ricaria Henderson.

Police are hoping an anonymous tip will lead them to the suspects.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest. You can leave a tip by calling 1-800-SPEAK-UP. You will remain anonymous.
