Police search for runaway driver after car hits house in crash in Detroit
DETROIT (FOX 2) - A collision in southwest Detroit sent one vehicle into a home early Friday morning, while the other driver sped away. Police are trying to track down the runaway driver right now.
Police were called to a neighborhood near Fort Street and W Outer Drive around 2:30 a.m. after the car crash. The driver of a Ford Escape was pulling away from a stop sign when it was rear ended by the driver of a large cargo type van.
The force pushed the Escape into a nearby house.
Luckily no one was seriously hurt. A woman in the Escape was taken to the hospital, though, for minor injuries.
The homeowner didn't realize the house had been damaged until police knocked on the door. The home mas some minor damages to the siding.
The driver of the cargo van took off. Since the Escape was rear ended the people in the car didn't have a good chance to look at the van driver, so police don't have a description to give out right now of the suspect.
