Pregnant woman threatened and called racial slur: video

A pregnant mom walking on the sidewalk in her Dearborn Heights neighborhood Sunday morning had racial epithets hurled at her.

Mikea Eberhart says she went on an early morning walk between 8:30 and 9 a.m. near her home.

The nurse and mother of three is nine month’s pregnant.

She was trying to induce labor, since she’s been having contractions. She did not expect what came her way.

“I was walking up the street… me and my two kids… a truck pulls up and says n**ger n**ger n**ger,” Eberhart told Fox 2.

That’s when Mikea says she pulled out her camera phone and started rolling.

In the Facebook video, which has since been taken down, a woman can be heard using a slew of expletives and racial epithets from the porch of a nearby home in what Eberhart called “racial intimidation.”

“Racism still exists and it’s very serious and it’s right in your neighborhood,” Mikea said. “It’s very diverse here now… for her to make that scene… it was surprising to me… because I never encountered something like that.”

Eberhart says she’s willing to protest and wants the woman to face consequences for what happened.

“I want her prosecuted… I’m going to press charges… I want her in jail,” Eberhart said. “You threatened my kids. I don’t play about my kids.”

Fox 2 went to the home depicted in the video.

A man came out and said he was unaware of where the woman on the video is now, and said he had no comment.

Police say the woman could be charged with ethnic intimidation, but that’s not set in stone.
