Roseville suspects charged in Craigslist armed robberies

Two of three suspects accused of using Craigslist to set up robberies appeared in Roseville court Wednesday.

Twenty-year-old Javon Ford along with 17-year-old Quazeal March along with a 16-year-old are accused of posting vehicles online only to rob the unknowing customers at gunpoint.

"March produced a handgun taking the victim's cash," testified a Roseville police detective. "Ford stated that he shouldered the victim against the vehicle before all three fled to the waiting vehicle."

It happened three times. The first two were successful robberies as victims showed up at Roseville apartment complex with thousands in cash.

But there was no car to buy, just three armed men who wanted to steal the money.

The third time however they sold to an undercover police officer and were caught.

"At the time the officers moved in, both fled on foot and were detained within a minute," testified the officer. "The 9 mm was recovered at the scene."

Ford and March now face multiple felonies including armed robbery, conspiracy and using a computer to commit a crime.

When the families learned their loved ones could potentially spend the rest of their life in prison if convicted for armed robbery, they couldn't contain their emotions - breaking out in tears.

Due to the severity of the charges, the judge set bond for both suspects at a full $750,000.
