St. Clair Shores woman critically injured in hit-and-run accident

A 37-year-old woman from St. Clair Shores is in critical condition Saturday after she was struck by a motorcycle in what police are calling a hit-and-run accident.

According to a witness, the woman was crossing the intersection of Masonic and Harper around 10:30 p.m. Friday when they say a Harley Davidson motorcycle came out of nowhere and hit the woman.

Debris from the crash was still on-scene Saturday. Mike Golz says his girlfriend, Angie Christen will have a long road to recovery.

Golz says Christen is in a lot of pain, already has gone thru one surgery and may have to have more. Golz says her injuries are horrific given the fact she got them from simply crossing the street.

With Christen at the time of the accident was her boyfriend's son and his friend Brandon Toal.

Toal explained what happened like this. "We were walking to get some pop at Marinos and she got hit by a motorcycle and the guy kept on going. Going at least 60 to 70 miles an hour."

Toal says it was a black Harley Davidson and that the driver never stopped, did not even seem to acknowledge that he had just hit another person.

Police say they're asking people to be on the lookout for a black Harley with a missing front right turn signal.

Police say a report has been filed but so far they have no leads in the case and continue to investigate.
