State police trooper injured in I-275 crash after driver fails to move over at accident scene

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (FOX 2) - A Michigan State Police trooper suffered minor injuries after his cruiser was hit while stopped investigating the scene of a previous crash.
The driver, a 23-year-old Dearborn man, failed to move over on I-275 near 10 Mile Road where the Metro North trooper was stopped on the left shoulder at 8:50 a.m. Thursday in Farmington Hills.
The trooper was seated in the patrol vehicle when it was struck by the driver of a Jeep Liberty.
The patrol vehicle and at-fault vehicle sustained minor damage. There were no injuries to the at-fault driver and the trooper sustained minor injuries and was treated and released.
"The patrol car had its lights activated and was all the way over on the left shoulder." said MSP 1st Lt. Mike Shaw. "The at-fault driver failed to move over and was driving too fast for the road conditions. This is just another example of drivers failing to move over for emergency vehicles and driving too fast."
