DETROIT (WJBK) - An 18-year-old suspect was arrested in a deadly hit-and-run on Detroit's west side.
Detroit police say around 12 p.m., officers arrested Adonis Jackson in the 19000 block of Avon Avenue as a suspect in a fatal accident.
A 20-year-old man was hit around 10:15 p.m. July 16 while crossing 7 Mile Road near Appleton. He was struck by a white Kia Sorento traveling eastbound and the driver failed to stop at the scene.
Critical hit-and-run on Detroit's west side
Using Project Greenlight footage from a nearby gas station, investigators were able to identify and locate the suspect for an arrest.
Police say Jackson was charged failing to stop at the scene of accident resulting in a serious impairment or death.
The suspect was arraigned by video on July 21.
