Suspicious package, threat letter prompt Walmart evacuation
ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WJBK) - The Walmart in Roseville was evacuated Tuesday morning after a coincidence of two threatening events at the store.
The bomb squad was called after a suspicious package was found. Also, a letter threatening employees' lives was found.
Roseville Police Chief Berlin says the two incidents are not related, and are just a coincidence. He says the letter was from a former employee who was recently let go. That person has been taken into custody.
The store at 12 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue was evacuated. Berlin says a 100 yard perimeter was set up as they waited on the bomb squad to arrive and investigate.
The all-clear was given at the store just after 11 a.m.
