Teen shot and killed in Roseville neighborhood

Police are looking for a suspect after a teenager died in a shooting Tuesday night in Roseville.

The shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. in a neighborhood on Pinehurst Street, near Twelve Mile and Utica roads. Police were called there after shots were fired and found the 17-year-old lying on the sidewalk, injured.

The teen was rushed to the hospital where he eventually was pronounced dead.

Police are still looking for the suspect right now, who's described as a black man in his early 20s about 6 feet tall. He was wearing all black clothing at the time and was last seen running west on 12 Mile. Police aren't sure if a getaway car was waiting nearby.

Police also aren't sure right now of a motive behind the shooting.

"[I'm] scared, really scared, because it was almost on my front lawn," said Paul Perfili. "I don't like guns on my front lawn, that's for sure. I mean, it's scary. It's a pretty nice part of Roseville here we live in and it's a safe community and something like this happening - and it looked like young kids, like high school kids. And that's even scarier that they're running around with guns shooting each other."

Police haven't yet given the name of the victim but we're told he was from Detroit.
