Thief caught on surveillance video stealing solar lights from Warren home

WARREN, Mich. (WJBK) -- Sunday morning, Nicol Robinson was getting ready to tackle some lawn work at her home in Warren when she noticed her lights were missing from the lawn.

Wondering what happened, she checked her home security footage.  That's where she saw a thief pull up to her house at 2:30 a.m. that morning.

"She's a pro, this is not her first rodeo with this," Robinson told FOX 2's Dave Spencer, "when I came to look at the camera I thought, 'Oh my God, it's someone's grandma stealing out of my front yard.'"

The thief pulls out the solar lights one-by-one, taking 18 in total from Nicol Robinson's home.  She drops them off at her car and is then seen lingering on the porch, as if she is shopping for other items to take.

In total a couple hundred dollars worth of lawn items were taken, and she also took items from a home across the street.

Robinson plans on pressing charged once the thief is identified, hoping to end the crime spree and teach the woman a lesson.

"I just want Grandma to know, you got caught.  You were seen, stop now."
