Thieves Break into Single Mom's Car and Home on the Same Day

A Detroit mom says thieves broke into her minivan and house in the same day. She says they stole her I.D.  from the car and later ransacked her home… stealing her children’s Christmas gifts.

"The thing that bothers me the most is to see that every last Christmas gift that I had purchased for my kids was missing."

Beverly Sanders took us inside her home on West Boston Boulevard. She says the burglars took TVs, her computer and just tore the place up.

"I noticed my tv was off the wall, clothes just thrown everywhere. My room is pretty much in a wreck."

"They pulled the mattresses off, they left them on the floor, they pretty much went through my room and his room."

A neighbor’s home security cameras captured what may be video of the brazen thieves pulling up to her home in an SUV… then leaving an hour later.

"I'm in disbelief. I'm really disappointed in the perpetrators that came into my house. I can't believe it. Nothing is given to anyone on a silver spoon. And just to think you can come in and take somebody stuff, how dare you."

Sanders  thinks the thieves got into the home through a back door.

"We threw all of the glass from that bottom screen door, so I'm assuming they busted the glass out, and took their hand and unlocked the door."

This is a tough blow for a single mom raising three boys on her own.

"I never had to experience that before. I've been over here since 2010. Never had my house broken into."

The mom, Beverly Sanders says she was at one of her son’s school Christmas programs when her car was broken into. When she got home that day… she discovered her home had been violated as well.
