Thieves smash SUV into Detroit liquor store

A Detroit business was broken into and robbed overnight on the city's east side.

Caught on surveillance video, the thief drove an SUV backwards into a metal rolling door and the bullet-proof glass doors at Diamond Market liquor store.

"This is unbelievable," the store owner said.

Even more unbelievable -- the same thing happened on May 14.

The thieves then used a crow bar to get the door open that leads to behind the counter. They also stole a safe and broke into the cash registers, taking another $3,000 and took as many cigarettes and bottles of liquor as possible.

The store owner doesn't know for sure if they are the same suspects as the last break in, but they do appear similar, broke in the same way and stole the same items.

That owner is hoping someone may recognize the suspects from the video. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
