Van stolen in dry cleaner uniform robbery used in smash and grabs

Police say a van involved in a uniform heist last week has been involved in another crime.

Detroit Police say a 3-man crew in a stolen white GMC van crashed into a liquor store on the city's west side early Tuesday morning. Police say the license plate number of the van is CE82871 -- the same license plate stolen from Perfect Cleaners last week.

On Friday, the suspects stole two vans from Perfect Cleaners. Inside the vans were dozens of police and fire uniforms from Novi and Farmington Hills.

The uniforms were recovered a few hours later, dumped on the side of the road. The two vans are still missing.

Police say one one of the vans was used to smash into Mark's Liquor Store, in the 5300 block of Tireman, just before 2 a.m. Tuesday. The suspects took lottery tickets and liquor.

Police don't have a description of the suspects to give out at this time.

The other van stolen from the dry cleaner was a 2015 white Chevy Express with the license plate DB46109.

Police said they have one person in custody and that there are more people wanted in the smash and grabs.
