Victim of fatal Davison crash was Hamtramck teen

A 17-year-old Hamtramck teen was killed in a horrific crash Wednesday. The boy's car was found flipped upside down resting next to a retaining wall on the Davison Freeway near Dequindre.

Mohammed Abdo Hussein was identified as the driver of the 2005 Nissan involved in the single car accident.

Michigan State Police said witnesses believe Hussein was driving over 100 miles an hour when he crashed. Investigators say there were no signs of alcohol, or foul play.

"Before he left he just kissed his mom and his dad and that's the last thing," said Nabil Husein, a couisn.

The family says he was on his way to do homework with a friend.

"I feel very sorry for his family and for his dad, mom, brothers and sisters," said Ossama Mosleh, a cousin. "I feel really sorry because he was the oldest one of the family, I feel so sorry for them."

One of five children, he was born to a very close Lebanese family. Numerous cousins paid their respect to him Thursday.

Hussein was a popular student at Frontier International Academy in Detroit, where he was a junior.

"He was a good guy, always smiling," said Abdullah Mosleh. "His smile never disappeared, he was a good guy."

Michigan State Police is still investigating the crash.
