Woman arrested for leaving baby in car at Southgate Sam's Club

SOUTHGATE, Mich. (WJBK) - The mother of a 23-month-old little girl was arrested in Southgate for leaving her in the car.

The child was left inside for about an hour sleeping in the parking lot outside Sam's Club off North Line Wednesday after 6 p.m.

The mother went inside to shop when other customers spotted the baby inside.

Southgate police were called out to the scene where the mother was arrested and the child taken by officers. She was eventually released to her family while the mother was charged.
