Woman arrested with alcohol, pot, fake IDs and kids in car after road rage fight

Troy Police say a woman arrested after a road rage incident was found to have open alcohol, marijuana, stolen IDs in the car with her -- along with her two kids.

Police say the officers were driving by the Shell gas station on Big Beaver Road near John R last Saturday night when they saw two people verbally fighting in the parking lot. Police pulled over to check on the situation.

They determined something happened on the road between the two drivers, and one of the drivers followed the other into the gas station parking lot. As police were taking with one of the drivers, 27-year-old Alexis Smith, they say they noticed she was hiding her purse and they could smell alcohol.

She admitted to having a couple drinks, and police tested her sobriety. A breath test indicated she had a 0.061% BAC.

Police searched her car and found an open container of alcohol on the front passenger seat. They also found a cup in the center console, full of something that smelled like alcohol. She was then taken into custody.

She also had her 8-year-old and 2-year-old in the car, and said she was on the way to the grocery store.

Police searched her purse at the lock-up facility, and also found a vape pen full of marijuana, along with marijuana edible candy. They also found several IDs that were not hers.

Moreso, Troy Police learned she is on the Detroit's Most Wanted list.

Smith has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol; Transporting an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle; Possession of Marijuana; Hinder and Obstruction of a Police Officer; and Identity Theft.
