Red Wings Hall of Famer Bill Gadsby dead at 88

Former Red Wings defenseman, head coach & Hockey Hall of Fame member Bill Gadsby passed away Thursday morning at the age of 88.  

The "honored member" of the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Association played 1248 regular season NHL games with Detroit, Chicago & the New York Rangers from 1946-1966.  

The Calgary native had 130 goals and 438 assists during his 21 season NHL career, but never won a Stanley Cup. He was inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame in 1970.  

Gadsby was head coach of the Red Wings during the 1968-69 season and complied a 35-31-12 record.
