Hang on to your umbrella if you are heading outside today. Spotty showers and storms are in the forecast with highs in the low 70s. Much warmer air will pour into Metro Detroit with highs nearing 80 degrees by early next week.

After a foggy start this Thursday morning, expect a few scattered showers and perhaps a few rumbles of thunder this afternoon. Highs should top out in the low 70s under mostly cloudy skies.

Showers become more likely the later we go into the day.

Most areas in Metro Detroit should stay dry this evening as temperatures slip into the low and mid 60s overnight. There is a chance for a few showers and rumbles of thunder on Thursday followed by near 80 degree heat next week.
