Four-legged furry guests to make surprise appearance at Detroit auto show charity preview

Cool cars, Detroit history, good food -- what's the one thing that could make the Detroit auto show even better?

Dogs.

Wait.

Dogs in bowties.

Alright so it's not so much a surprise appearance since we're telling you about it now, but FOX 2 is teaming up with the Michigan Humane Society to bring you a special show - dogs at the Charity Preview. It's cold outside and these dogs need homes and loving families. Who better to take as my Auto Prom dates than the good boys and good girls of the Detroit shelter?

So if you're going to be there, stop by the Subaru of America display to meet the pups, they will be dressed to the Ca-Nines. (sorry for that, please still come.) You can watch from the comfort of your home, in your sweatpants, with your dog!

We'll be live on FOX 2 News and then later, at 7:30 p.m., we'll be live on Facebook and you can watch the surprised looks on people's faces that I managed to convince my bosses to let me bring dogs to this very fancy event!!!

MOST IMPORTANTLY: This show is a preview of a very special event that everyone can attend at the public showing. The Michigan Humane and Subaru are presenting "Meet Your Best Friend at the Auto Show" where you can meet the pups yourself.

Subaru will have a dog setup where you can sit down, have a chat with some dogs, discuss your favorite cars, and perhaps even make a new best friend.

You can meet the dogs between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, January 19-20 and then again at the same time the following weekend, January 26-27.

The video above explains all.
