Gregory Green is suspected of killing his two little girls and teenage step-children in Dearborn Heights.

Green also is accused of shooting his wife and slashing her throat - crimes so horrific that they have happened before.

In 1991 Green pleaded no contest to killing his then wife, who was six months pregnant, by stabbing her to death. After he did so, he called police, told them what he had done and waited for them to arrive and let them in. This took place in Detroit at his home.

After being denied parole for lack of remorse and empathy five times, he completed several cognitive based programs and was paroled in 2008 and released from parole in 2010.

At 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, Green called 911 and reported killing his family. He then sat on the front porch at his Hipp Street residence until police arrived.

His wife, Faith Green, was bound and bleeding with her throat slashed and wounded by a gunshot in the foot. She was duct-taped to a chair in the basement - and had been forced to watch her oldest children were duct taped and shot in the head, execution style.

"She was conscious, she was able to give some statements to the officers," said Lt. Michael Krause, Dearborn Heights police.

Both 17-year-old Kara Allen and her brother, 19-year-old Chadney Allen were found dead, while upstairs their step-sisters appeared to be sleeping in their beds. But 4-year-old Kaleigh Green and 5-year-old Coi Green were dead.

Sources say that they died from carbon monoxide poisoning in the family car, then Green placed their bodies in their beds. First responders tried frantically to administer CPR but it was too late. Counseling is being provided for dispatch, police and fire involved in the tragedy.

"It's a trauma for everyone and over the next week or so, they will be dealing with a lot of difficult emotions," said Fire Chief Dave Brogan.

Dearborn Heights Mayor Dan Paletko expressed shock and grief, while police had never been called to the home. But there is history here.

Records show his current wife Faith filed for divorce in 2013 and again in August of this year. They had a hearing coming up in October.

"There were some problems going on in the household from what I understand," said family friend Bridgett Baker.

"These situations are usually planned, premeditated and very deliberate," said Amy Youngquist, domestic violence expert, First Step. "That's what makes it so sad to see that there's four people, four children deceased and also a victim in the hospital and what she's going to wake up to, is horrific"

"I can't recall a crime of this magnitude happening in the city of Dearborn Heights," said Chief Michael Petri. "He stated that he shot the members of his family inside his home."
