Single mom who lost child to cancer is given new car by viewer

A mother who lost her little girl to cancer got a fresh start from a local charity -and even more help has arrived.

Now things are looking up for Tywanda Terry.

A few weeks ago Terry shared her emotional story about losing her 9-year-old daughter to lymphoma, T- cell cancer. She was forced to live in and out of homeless shelters while raising another child who is hearing impaired.

Struggling to get on her feet, Terry was able to get into home but could not decorate it.  Humble Designs, non-profit furnishing homes for people leaving homeless shelters, stepped up to do renovations and furnished the house.

But she was in need of a car and a Fox 2 viewer answered the call.

FOX 2 cameras were there when viewer Lindsay Krempa handed over the keys to Tywanda Terry.

"Oh my goodness," Terry said, before the two came together in a big hug.

"I would never think that someone would understand my story and help me like this," Terry said.

"A viewer saw the story, gave us a call and said she had a car she would like to donate to her." said Lindsay Krempa of Humble Designs.

Now this single mother says she say can move forward and encourages others to do the same.

"I just want to say if you keep God first, he will show up," Terry said.
