The American's with Charlie LeDuff: Ferguson late night: Heavily armed police forces march

As the unrest continues in Ferguson, Charlie LeDuff and The Americans are continuing to tell the story.Around 11:00 a.m. CT, cameras returned to the city. As our cameras were turned back on, buildings burned, heavily armed vehicles rolled in, and dozens of armed officers marched in.

An armored police response greeted protesters late Monday night.

As fires burned in the business district, armored police vehicles rolled through Ferguson.

"Return to your vehicles, return to your homes and leave the area," said a voice from a police vehicle. "Stop destroying property in Ferguson Missouri."

"Do not go into the street this is for your safety, if you do you are subject to arrest."

Large armored vehicles drove past burning buildings while police with riot gear walked down the street."

In the wake of a grand jury's decision to not indict white police officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of unarmed black teen Michael Brown, fires continued to burn through the night.
