Thief steals trailer from Michigan junior football team

Football season is weeks away but a Detroit youth program is hoping someone recognizes their distinct trailer after it was stolen last week.

The Melvindale Junior Football Club says the trailer they use to transport equipment was stolen early last week - with nearly $4,000 of gear inside.

The team says it's very obvious it's theirs: it's white with Cardinal stickers all over it.

This isn't the first time the team has been targeted - just a few days earlier someone tried to break into their equipment shed.

The trailer is needed more than ever. This season, the Melvindale football field is under construction and the team is playing on the road every week, meaning they plan to haul their gear all over in that trailer.

If you spot it, the team is asking you please call police.
