Two SUVs damaged after one refused to stop after police tried pulling it over
REDFORD TWSP, Mich. (FOX 2) - It looked like a scene out of a Die Hard film.
One SUV through a man's fence, while another on its side a few blocks down the road.
"I jumped up and I looked out the window and there was this car in front of my building on its side," said a witness.
The automotive carnage started when a black SUV refused to stop after police tried pulling it over. Instead, it sped forward, hitting a red SUV in the process. Witnesses say it was traveling down 6 Mile, coming from Telegraph.
When the black SUV ended on its side, the driver got out of the vehicle and fled on foot without any shoes - leaving a female passenger in the car.
"I helped her break the window to get her out, she said 'she couldn't breathe,'" said Norm Rose.
She was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The suspect who fled was caught nearby by police.
Police reported no injuries, despite the wreckage.
